Lisa Cuscuna / is a graduate of The Cooper Union School of Art. She began designing projection environments and video for corporations, Broadway shows, world fairs, Olympic events, and museum installations in 1976. Her technical experience covers a broad range of projection methods and the use of computer technology, including single screen projection, digital and multi-source projection, large format projectors, video wall systems and dark ride experiences. Her work appeared in Broadway shows produced by Harold Prince (Merrily We Roll Along, Diamonds and End of the World), Trevor Nunn and Andrew Lloyd Webber (Song and Dance), Bob Fosse (Dancin’), John Caird (Jane Eyre), and Will Farrell on Broadway (You’re Welcome America.) Her work was also featured in the live Seigfried and Roy Show designed by John Napier, which played daily at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

She supervised the design of corporate sponsored meetings and video for the entertainment industry and business community while working as senior art director and creative director for the New York firm Zacks & Perrier. Clients included: Intel: PC Expo chip introduction press event / designer, IBM e-business solutions: designer producer, CBS Marketing Group: Marketing presentation / designer, Life Magazine: Publishers presentation/ designer, Sony Music and Electronic Publishing: Trade show media / designer, The Equitable: Recognition event media / designer, and Warner Communications/ Atlantic Records: video wall designer. Her revolutionary installation at the IBM Gallery on 57th street and Madison Avenue in New York won the International Monitor Award for best Non-broadcast Video, and played for over a decade.

Her own company, Cuscuna Multimedia Inc., produced and directed video for major exhibit designers in New York.  Exhibits currently open to the public are “The George Bush Presidential Library video wall” in Texas,  “The International Olympic Museum video wall” in Switzerland, “The North Carolina Museum of History – 360 projection” in Charlotte, North Carolina, the “Petrosains Science and Discovery Center – Dark Ride” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and “Black Holes – Gravity’s Ultimate Triumph,” part of the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History, New York.

As curator and master printer for the Francis Wolff picture collection, Cuscuna managed all licensing agreements, and created Fine Art Prints for customers worldwide. The collection has 20,000 negatives and chronicles the “Blue Note” recording sessions of Jazz music from 1940 to 1970.

Cuscuna has exhibited her paintings at Zorya Gallery in Greenwich, Marc Fattahi’s New Canaan Fine Art Gallery in New Canaan Connecticut, The Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery of Stamford, Armand Bolling Fine Art in Jupiter, Florida, and RFA Décor, a division of Rosenbaum Contemporary in Boca Raton Florida.  She is a member of the Greenwich Arts Council, and was on the board of directors of the Art Society of Old Greenwich from 2010 to 2016. She was President of the Loft Artists Association from 2009 to 2013, a non-profit group of professional artists located in Stamford CT, and a board member and treasurer of that organization until 2020. She currently holds the position of commissioner on the “Arts & Culture” commission for the City of Stamford.
